Humax Freeview HD box owners are rushing to sign up for a beta test of the long-awaited Humax TV Portal.
The closed beta trial is open to owners of both the HD-Fox T2 and HDR-Fox T2.
The Humax TV Portal allows users to access the BBC iPlayer, Sky Player, Wikipedia, YouTube and Humax customer support via their broadband connection.
It was first announced in December 2009, and almost a year later was rescheduled for launch this month (http://www.cardshare.tv/news/humax-tv-portal-update-due-january-01-12-10).
The beta test - which relies on a special software upgrade - also covers various bug fixes.
Users can apply to join the trial by emailing by emailing testing@humaxonline.co.uk, with subject line "TV Portal Beta".
You will then receive a form which asks for details including the serial number of your product - presumably allowing Humax to directly address each download to specific machines.
However, Humax warns that not all users will be selected.
