Spanish DTT law allows the broadcasters the renting of its muxes to third parties and so the national government has authorised Sociedad General de Televisión Cuatro (Sogecuatro) to rent one of its DTT channels to the company DTS-Distribuidora de Televisión Digital. Sogecuatro has an audiovisual communication licence and a digital mux of national coverage comprising four digital channels. Both Sogecuatro and DTS asked for official authorisation for the rental and after having analysed the request, the government was satisfied that it fulfilled the requirements of Spanish law. The rental of the mux implies the subrogation of DTS in all rights and obligations of Sogecuatro in terms of being a provider of audiovisual communication services and in terms of editorial for the rented channel.
