Akamai, most well known for its content delivery network, sees the move as being a perfect fit for its business specifically boosting its presence in the areas of cloud and mobile optimisation. Cotendo also offers a distributed cloud application environment called Cloudlet that allows decision-makingat the edge, closest to the end users.
