IBC 2012: SES, Sony transmit live 4K content Editor | 08-09-2012 Only weeks after detailing the specs of future TVs offering 4K video, Sony, in partnership with leading satellite operator SES, has now made a live demonstration of the ultra-high definition video standard. In the test broadcast, a protected video channel was uplinked from the SES headquarters in Luxembourg via the ASTRA Satellite System. The 4K TV, content was played out in Quad Full HD format encoded in the H.264 standard at a data rate of 50 Mbit/s and delivered on Sony Bravia 84" 4K displays at a pixel resolution of 3840 x 2160.
