NETGEAR launches Neo TV OTT streaming box Michelle Clancy | 21-09-2012 NETGEAR has launched a new set-top over-the-top (OTT) streaming player line, Neo TV, geared to turn any TV into a connected TV. The three streamers (available in three flavours: NeoTV, NeoTV PRO and NeoTV MAX) are geared to bring Netflix, Vudu, Hulu Plus, YouTube, Best Buy CinemaNow, Pandora, Rhapsody and others to the big screen TV in full 1080p HD and 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound. All three feature built-in Wi-Fi and a wired Ethernet connection, and come with a remote control featuring one-touch 'Quick Start' that are the equivalent of speed dial for favourite services.Also, an optional free remote control app is available for download from Google Play or from the Apple App Store for Android, iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.To these basic features, NeoTV PRO adds the Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) to the mix, which allows you to wirelessly display your laptop screen on your TV in up to 1080p full-HD video. It also has an AV port to connect to older TVs that do not have HDMI ports.The NeoTV MAX adds in the ability to play personal media from external hard disk drives, USB drives and DLNA media servers, and comes with a premium remote control with simple navigation buttons on one side and a full QWERTY keyboard on the other. It also supports 3D.The pricing undercuts other streamers in the market: NeoTV starts at $49.99.
