Jörn Krieger | 28-08-2013German media entrepreneur Michael Kölmel is to return to the movie business with a new Leipzig-based film distribution company called Weltkino (World Cinema)."We want Leipzig to get a strong movie distributor again. That's a necessity for a media city's needs," Kölmel told German magazine Super-Illu. "Our own movie distributor will enable us to bring the films we love to cinema screens," he added. The first movie he will market will be the French director Francois Ozon's Cannes success Jeune et Jolie in collaboration with producer Dietmar Güntsche.The Kölmel-owned movie distributor Kinowelt was built up again by the entrepreneur after the company filed for insolvency and was subsequently sold to the French movie group Studiocanal in 2008. Kölmel's array of companies currently achieves a turnover of around
