PrimaCom buys DTK Deutsche Telekabel Jörn Krieger | 17-03-2014 German cable operator PrimaCom has taken over cable company DTK Deutsche Telekabel.Through the purchase, of which the financial details have not been disclosed, PrimaCom will strengthen its position, in particular in the provision of housing and real estate companies and their tenants with multimedia services, the cable operator announced. PrimaCom's customer base will increase by 30% to around 1.3 million."We are very happy about this new fruitful combination as it will open up magnificent prospects for further growth and a positive business and corporate development for us," said PrimaCom CEO, Joachim Grendel."Through the acquisition of DTK, we will immediately gain 270,000 connected households in our core areas of broadband Internet, HD television and fixed-line telephony. As DTK acts as an independent service company and partner of the housing industry in these segments just like us, the takeover will lead to valuable synergies for both sides."PrimaCom acquired cable operator Sy-Fra Antennentechnik serving around 22,000 households at the end of 2013 and announced that it will look for further purchase opportunities.
