ZDF programmes to join Hulu
Jörn Krieger | 25-03-2014 ZDF Enterprises, the commercial subsidiary of German public broadcaster ZDF, will distribute a package of documentaries to US video-on-demand (VOD) service Hulu, adding a collection of 12 titles to the free, ad-supported hulu.com and the Hulu Plus subscription service. The programmes were produced by German, European and international filmmakers in HD quality between 2005 and 2013. Several of them have links to the US, for example scientific experts or shooting locations. The package covers topics such as ancient history, archaeology, wildlife, nature, 20th Century history, current affairs, travel, people and places. Programmes include The History of the Christmas Tree, Wild Germany, Wild Poland and Scotland: Highlands and Islands.
