Telefónica taps TeleIDEA for STB UI Details Gabriel Miramar-Garcia | 02 September 2014 Telefónica has commercially deployed a new generation of set-top box (STB) devices powered by TeleIDEA's Smartware. TeleIDEA's turnkey solution has been implemented following the 'UX' advanced user interface (UI) as specified by Telefónica Digital. "We've had a very smooth project execution with TeleIDEA working in cable STBs implementing our new UI, they have been very proactive and adaptive with really good results from the beginning and a very accurate availability plan," said Javier Lucendo de Gregorio, DTH and end devices manager of Telefónica Digital. "In South America, it is critical to provide advanced solutions in a short time and in a cost-effective manner, and we believe that our Smartware solution is the answer to this demand," added Pio Cardone, managing director of TeleIDEA. "It has been a real pleasure to have the opportunity to work with the Telefónica team, which has a clear view and understanding of the digital TV arena."
