ICE integrates Cable Visión into residential offer DetailsJuan Fernandez Gonzalez | 16 May 2015 It has taken more than two years, but at last Costa Rica's public telco, the Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE), has decided to fully integrate Cable Visión's offer into its own residential service Kölbi after buying the cable company in 2013. According to a short public communication through Cable Visión's Facebook profile profile, the platform has become a part of Kölbi Hogar, promising to keep delivering the same entertainment content, but now being a part of a larger platform with more telecom services. Although the acquisition was completed in 2013, it was close to being killed off by the market's watchdog, the Superintendencia de Telecomunicaciones (Sutel), due to concerns regarding spectrum ownership. The Sutel has recently denied a similar merging authorisation between Millicom's Tigo and Telecable, due to the high concentration within the pay-TV market if the merger took place.
