Naspers is reportedly considering a sale of its Multichoice pay-TV business outside of South Africa.The company has been hit by disappointing growth as consumers seek out alternatives including online and DTT. An outright sale is just one of the options under consideration. The South African operation remains highly lucrative and is unlikely to be a part of any sale.Citing sources familiar with the situation, Bloomberg said a possible deal had been briefly discussed with the mobile operator MTN, but the talks had not progressed.Between them MultiChoice South Africa and MultiChoice Africa hold 11 million subscribers in 50 countries across sub-Saharan Africa.Naspers also owns technology company Irdeto and the sports channel Supersport.
