ANCOM outlines 2019 planDecember 10, 2018 11.18 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul The Romanian regulator ANCOM has launched its 2019 Action Plan for public consultation.One element of the plan is spectrum management and administration and next year ANCOM will organise a selection procedure for awarding frequencies in the 700, 800,1500, 2600 and 3400-3600 MHz band for the provision of broadband public electronic communications networks and services. The action will be aimed at achieving the 2020 broadband access targets of the Digital Agenda for Europe and the objectives of the 5G Action Plan for Europe on the coordinated introduction of 5G services in the EU. In 2019 ANCOM will also organise selection procedures for awarding rights for radio frequencies (T-DAB and digital terrestrial broadcasting system), as well as the use for the radio frequencies in digital terrestrial television system for the still not acquired spectrum resources.Other elements of the 2019 Action Plan include spectrum management and control; transposition of European legislation; and regulations on electronic communications services.Commenting on the plan, Sorin Grindeanu, president of ANCOM, said:
