Netflix set to stream Mandarin movie Dear Ex DetailsRebecca Hawkes | 24 January 2019 US streaming giant Netflix is to release award-winning Mandarin language film Dear Ex globally from 1 February.The black comedy, starring Roy Chiu, Ying-Xuan Hsieh, Spark Chen and Joseph Huang, was awarded Best Feature Film, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Media Recommendation at the Taipei Film Festival.Written by Mag Hsu and Shih-Yuan Lu and directed by Mag Hsu and Chih-Yen Hsu, Dear Ex is a story of diverse and sometimes conflicting family values. Its refreshing treatment of its subject marks a change from traditional Mandarin films.
