*The Paraguayan regulator will receive the digital TV report this weekOver the course of this week, the Paraguayan Consulting Council (CC) will submit its conclusions regarding the most suitable digital TV standard for the country before the National Telecommunications Commission. The report was delayed some days since the agreed upon submission date had been fixed for April 15th. If the new deadline is respected, such presentation will take place next Friday and the delivery of recommendations to the Executive Power by the National Telecommunications Commission would occur on May 10th."Each of them (CC members) were asked for a recommendation, which will not be taken through voting but will be added to the report to be presented to the President (Fernando Lugo)", the President of the regulating agency, Jorge Seall, explained to the morning paper La Nación. The CC is made up by the Deputies' Chamber, the Senators' Chamber; the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Ministry of Public Works and Communications; the Secretary of IT and Communications for Development; the National Council of Science and Technology; the University of Engineering of UNA and the Polytechnic School of UNA; the IT department of the Presidency of the Republic and a group of TV Radiobroadcasting companies and another Cell Mobile Telephony and PCS group.SBTVD, the Brazilian ISDB version, is the leading standard in Latin America. In Addition to Brazil, Ecuador, Argentina, Chile, Peru and Venezuela have already turned to the Nipponese. The President of the Paraguayan regulator, Jorge Seall, recognized that SBTVD predominance in the region, plays an important role in the final recommendation of the Executive Power. In the region, Colombia, Panama and Uruguay have chosen the European standard, whereas Mexico and Honduras adopted the American one. *
