Sky1 has launched its slate of drama programming for the Autumn season, with shows featuring the likes of Philip Glenister, John Simm and David Morrissey.
Life On Mars stars Simm and Glenister will team up with Max Beesley, Marc Warren and Ben Chaplin on Mad Dogs, a black comedy based around a group of former university friends who stage a reunion in the sun - only for things to take a very dark twist.
David Morrissey stars in Thorne, based on the series of detective novels by Mark Billingham. The six-part TV series will adapt two of Billingham's novels featuring Detective Tom Thorne, Sleepyhead and Scaredy-Cat.
Sky1 is also moving into the family action-adventure genre with Sinbad, a new adaptation that's clearly intended to compete with the likes of Merlin and Doctor Who. From the makers of Primeval, the show's aiming to reinvigorate the 8th-century hero's adventures for a contemporary audience.
