*HD part of the DNA of Finnish TVEditor ©RapidTVNews | 16-09-2010* *Finland's largest cable TV operator DNA has revealed plans to bring HD TV to 1.5 million Finnish homes by 2011 via terrestrial broadcasting.* *DNA has teamed up with Ericsson to make the HDTV experience available for 60% of all Finnish digital terrestrial TV households by 2011 and will begin deployments in the larger Finish cities by the end of this year. For its part the Swedish telecommunications and broadcasting technology giant will be the prime contractor for the project, providing network roll-out and systems integration services as well as maintenance and support services. The technology provided includes a MPEG-4 AVC HD head-end solution, along with third party products and technology for DVB-T2 HDTV broadcasting.* *DNA is banking on the premise that once viewers experience HD TV into their living room, it will be there to stay.
