Spain gained nearly 100,000 FTTH connections in June, bringing the total to 5.6 million.According to the regulator CNMC, Movistar was by far the leading provider of FTTH connections, accounting for 3.2 million, or 56.8% of the total, as of the end of June. Movistar was also the leading provider of fixed broadband services as a whole, claiming a market share of 42.03%. It was followed by Orange (28.31%), Vodafone (23.14%) and Grupo Masmov!l, (1.97%), with other providers claiming the remaining 4.45%.Meanwhile, the number of DSL lines fell by 97,841 in June, which HFC lines increased by 10,684. All told, there were 14,028,075 fixed broadband lines in Spain as of the end of June. This was equivalent to 30.1 lines per 100 inhabitants, compared to 28.9 a year earlier.
