Vice Media eyes April launch for India DetailsRebecca Hawkes | 08 March 2018 Vice Media plans its long awaited Indian launch on 2 April, the content company's Asia-Pacific CEO has announced at an entertainment industry event in Mumbai.Springtide Infotainment Media, a joint venture between New York-based Vice Media and India's Times Group will include a digital studio and a production hub, Hosi Simon said at the FICCI Frames conference.Vice Media's pay-TV channel Viceland will be launched under the name of Vice Now in India. The linear channel will carry both local and international programming targeted at the millennial audience. The joint venture will also produce and distribute local content for online and mobile platforms.Vice plans to open a new office in Delhi, while the production hub - creating long form and short form content - will be based in Mumbai. Chanpreet Arora has been appointed as CEO for Vice India.The partnership between Vice Media and Times Group dates back to June 2016. It is part of Vice Media's strategy to work with local partners to expand around the globe, mixing local and international news, culture and lifestyle programming to young viewers across all platforms.
