Mediaset merges Spanish, Italian arms into one business DetailsJoseph O'Halloran | 10 June 2019 European pay-TV giant Mediaset has created a new international holding company, MFE-Mediaforeurope after the boards of directors of Mediaset SpA and Mediaset Espaņa resolved to merge the two companies into a pan-European television hub.On completion of the operation, Mediaforeurope will be based in the Netherlands with its tax base in Italy and listed on both the Italian and Spanish stock exchanges. It will control 100% of Mediaset SpA and 100% of Mediaset Espaņa as well as the recently acquired 9.6% stake in ProSiebenSat1.Mediaset offered assurances that going forward there would be no de-localisation and that the operational activities of both companies would remain in Italy and Spain.
