ProsiebenSat.1 joins ACTFebruary 26, 2020 09.49 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger German commercial broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 has joined the Association of Commercial Television in Europe (ACT), increasing the total membership to 28 of Europe’s largest media enterprises present across the EU.“We are delighted that ProSiebenSat.1 has returned to the ACT, thereby reuniting all founding members as the association celebrates its 30 year anniversary,” Grégoire Polad, ACT director general, said in Brussels. “This confirms ACT’s ongoing impactful representation of the commercial broadcasting sector as we enter a new political cycle and call on the institutions to develop a robust, responsible and reliable media policy for Europe.”Conrad Albert, deputy CEO and group general counsel of ProSiebenSat.1, added: “The European audiovisual industry still has to compete on a playing field that is far from being level. And European media policy and lawmaking still lacks a coherent long-term strategy for our industry. Both challenges need a strong voice in Brussels and we are happy to be on board for this.”
