STV Player launches on Apple TV devicesFebruary 27, 2020 11.04 Europe/London By Julian Clover STV has launched its on demand and steaming service, STV Player, on Apple TV devices.The Scottish broadcaster is the exclusive home of channel 3 content north of the border.In addition to popular ITV content White House Farm, Flesh & Blood and Coronation Street, viewers in Scotland and access an additional 1,000 hours of STV Player free content including The Slap, Rebus and Taggart.“Having the STV Player on Apple TV has been one of the most requested developments from Scottish Apple fans for some time. Apple TV users are passionate and heavy users and we’re thrilled that we’re now able to add this platform to our portfolio,” said Richard Williams, Director of Digital, STV.STV Player also offers live streaming with STV and STV+1 available to Scottish homes, and 24-hour free-to-air sports channels, FreeSports and EDGEsport, available across the whole of the UK.In addition to the free service, STV’s subscription service – STV Player+ – is enabled on the app which means that Player+ subscribers get the same ad-free experience here and in the EU on their tvOS devices for £3.99 per month – bringing Player+ benefits to a large screen platform.In order to access the STV Player app, users simply need to search and install from the App Store on an Apple TV device that runs at least tvOS v13.The STV Player became available on Virgin Media in 2018 and launched on the Sky platform in November 2019.The Player is also available on Freeview, web, Android, Fire TV, Samsung, Roku/Now TV and Freesat.
