Play grows Polish TV businessFebruary 27, 2020 10.56 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul Poland’s leading mobile operator Play Communications ended 2019 with 32,200 customers for its Play Now Box TV service, launched commercially in April last year.Play Now Box TV consists of a basic package of TV channels; DTT channels; TV Box; the Play Now collection, consisting of thousands of hours of films, series and programmes on demand; and the Play Now library, giving access to 500 hours of movies on demand. It also includes Netflix and HBO Go.In its latest set of results, the company notes that its full-year revenues in 2019 amounted to PLN7,041 million (€1,663 jillion), or 2.9% more than in 2018. Adjusted EBITDA was PLN1,866 million (+14.9% year-on-year) and net profit PLN867 million (+16.4%). Play also says that its CFO Holger Püchert has decided to leave Play Group for personal reasons towards the end of 2020. He has been in the post since March 2017.
